Embodying Our Paintings
... further deepening our connection with the Source

EMBODIMENTS are an aspect of the Painting From The Source® workshop where participants who chose to, take the opportunity to "shape shift" into their painting, and silently witnessed by the group, become their painting, embody their painting, make the movements and sounds their painting wants to express.

People are surprised at how easy and powerful this process can be. This can be done when the painting is complete as a closing ritual or any time during the process. Often if you feel blocked or stuck, embodying your painting, or as we say "doing an embodiment", will bring you closer to the painting and be a catalyst for the process.

Having your painting and yourself simply seen by others with no judgment is a truly heart opening experience for both embodier and witnesses. Sometimes people spontaneously become an image in their painting and begin to speak to the group and them self as the figure, creature, plant or river.

Some of you may remember I used to call this process " Non Verbals." In my book it is discussed as, "Tips for Witnessing Your Paintings" on page 201. By using other creative modalities as sound, movement, poetic metaphor, you are in a similar altered state of consciousness as when you paint, further deepening your connection with the source.
