Dear Painting Friends Worldwide,

The past year has been a time of going deep within, meditation, dream work, prayer, painting, writing, melting and reshaping in the cocoon. It has been a year of much needed letting go, softening, healing and surrender. And it continues.

Next week I go to New York City for my 50th High School reunion; The High School of Music and Art. It was a rare privilege to attend this very unique public High School devoted to art, music and voice. It was a large gothic “castle on the hill”, located in upper Manhattan adjoining the City College of NY campus. Many people well known in the arts are its graduates. It is now located at Lincoln Center in NYC. What memories. While in NYC, I will lead a one day workshop at the Open Center in Soho, (June 15) which was also one of the first places I taught PFTS 27 years ago. I will also visit with many old friends, family and students including my grandchildren in Brooklyn. This July 17th I will be 68. It feels like a time of both revisiting the past and restructuring the future for sustainability and good work. My astrologer concurs; it is a time for bold new projects healing the planet and collaboration.

September 14-19 I will be collaborating with the teacher of Dance Journey, Toni Bergins, teaching a workshop combo of painting and dance at Esalen Institute in Big Sur California, combining 2 powerful modalities that I love. This is a dream come true. Another dream come true is teaching a workshop on the Island of Maui in Hawaii, August 15-19. I will also do a mini workshop at the Hanna Arts Center in what many say is the most beautiful part of Maui, a place I have also dreamed of visiting. While In Hawaii, I will visit the highly recommended Island of Kauai. Anyone know of an arty reasonable place to stay in Kauai? And I will be doing my annual 5 day retreat at Kripalu, October 5-10. So North East Painters check it out. I have postponed the Teacher Training until or if I get the 10 people I need. For more information about workshops, see my schedule. Future location hopes are Hollyhock off coast of British Columbia, Cape Town, South Africa and back at my old favorite Rowe conference Center in the Ma Berkshires on edge of Vermont border.

I still love leading painting retreats, but there is some new form of contribution wanting to come through. For at least 11 years I have had a vision for a story to be shared in the form of a movie; a story related to the  planetary ned for consciousness, for the balance of masculine and feminine energy. Finally ,emerging from this 11 year gestation period, is a rough 40 page  draft of a foundation story in the form of a fantasy Myth and a two page Movie outline of a contemporary story which roughly relates to the foundation Myth. The working title for the Myth is “The King Who Sang The Song Of The Grandmother”. Movie title has not come through yet. May be , "Quantum Leap". Do you know a script writer / producer etc who would be interested in seeing this sort of planetary transformational/ spiritual movie idea?  An additional thought is that the money made from this movie go to ecological and peace promoting groups and all the actors and production staff writers, me included, offer their work for free, like musicians do for  benefit concerts. Finally writing this rough draft has been a healing for me even if it does not turn into a book or movie.
