Dear Painting Friends Worldwide,

Except for the occasional “lone wolf”, we are social animals. We love doing things together in person. “Extended Social Distancing” during this pandemic is a true deprivation. People are getting depressed, sick, suicidal. Improvising ways to connect is a testament to human creativity, to our ability to innovate.

Over the past few months, I and the participants of my zoom painting groups have been delightfully surprised at how intimate powerful and transformative the zoom workshops have been. In the past, we could only imagine connecting so deeply with each other and our paintings in an “in-person “group.

“Aviva‘s Knowledge and Connection to the Source transcend the two-dimensional boundaries of a virtual workshop experience through Zoom Building community through virtual interactions is challenging. However, participating in Aviva Gold‘s latest Thursday Workshop series was one of the most transformative experiences. Her guidance and clarity mentored us through the painting process and her astute connection to the Source nurtured our embodiments of the energy the painting communicated. I felt encouraged to trust this process and to feel and nurture my own connection to the Source. Thank you, Aviva, for sharing and passing on your wisdom.”

Here is a quote from Susanne, a German Professor at UPenn.

“The Painting From The Source process turns out to be as intense, personal and revealing online as it is in person. In my experience, it hinges on two things: One, Aviva is as present, coaching, challenging, nourishing as she is in 3-D, and the participants need to be willing, open, vulnerable and transparent. Second, the process benefits from boldness and active participation, since the time spent together is more condensed, and most of the painting is done during the week in between sessions at home. It was super stimulating and nourishing! I met beautiful people, was moved to tears by their stories, embodiments, paintings, … we laughed and shared and loved: it was intimate and sweet. I will certainly do it again!”

A quote from Els Maagdenberg, a Nurse and caregiver in Holland.

“During this time of social distancing and isolation, this zoom painting group has been there for essential connection, for painting and intimate sharing. In the same way that when you lose one of your senses, the others become more acute, without physical presence, the sharing and painting process has taken on new depth.”

Katherine Avalon, Artist and Teacher in Santa Fe, NM, speculates on how and why zoom painting is so powerful.
