Have you ever had one of those “I could die now and feel complete” moments? You know, like when you have accomplished a longed for feat, had a transformational moment, achieved a momentous goal, had a deep spiritual visitation. This feeling usually involves some sense of achieving some karmic destiny, overcoming a big obstacle on your Hero’s Journey .. it’s a spiritual transcendent feeling… bliss, inner peace, awe.
I feel so fortunate to have had this feeling a few times in my life, like the natural birth of my first child, after my first breakthrough painting, seeing a copy of my book in a book store for first time, making it to the top of a sacred Himalayan mountain in Nepal, witnessing amazing transformations while facilitating a painting workshop. Each time I think, if I achieve nothing else in my life I will feel complete… And then some new mountaintop appears on the horizon. I feel compelled to climb.
Another peak dream is coming true as you read. I always wanted my book, Painting From the Source: Awakening the Artist’s Soul In Everyone to be filled with colored paintings. I knew in my heart that people must see lots of different Source paintings in the book and also see the stages in the process of these paintings developing. …. But in 1998, the publisher, Harper Collins, would only do a six page color insert. Now with “print on demand” publishing and a great book designer / Source painter, Pam Hawkins, my dream of the best color version of my book has come true. It was expensive to redesign but well worth the purchase, ($35). This book needed to exist as my legacy, a testament to the healing, spiritual process of painting. For me this is another “Now I can die fulfilled” feeling.

PS: Next summer I will have completed 80 years in this incarnation on this planet. Hard to believe. When I was young, I thought 80 was old. I thought at 80 there are no more ambitions, just rest, leisure, limitations… that is if you are even still alive at 80. Now 80 is just a number to defy.
