Source Paintings Are Eternal Mirrors Of Our Body/Mind/Soul

Dear Painting Friends Worldwide,

The importance of feeling solid and stable on the earth can not be overstated. Some people call it grounded, some call it centered, others call it rooted. All these words address the same sensation, of mind, body and soul feeling balanced, clam, solid and steady on the earth amidst the volatile storm of every day of distractions and instability.

This sensation of being grounded, of being solidly connected to the earth beneath your feet is necessary for optimum mental, physical and creative heath. We know that the powerful magnetic and chemical reactions going on for millions of years beneath our feet, plus the layers of rocks, water and earth can all be felt by our bodies. (Walking barefoot on the earth and beach when ever possible is highly recommended).

As you can imagine in terms of Painting, just the very act of putting brush to paper and being absorbed in the creative process is a nourishing steadying experience. But there is so much more. 

In my Painting From the Source workshops, most people have a tendency to ignore the feet on figures, to ignore the roots of trees and plants and in general to ignore the lower half of their paintings. 

We use tempera paint on paper. People have the option to grow their paintings by adding paper. Most often people add paper in upper part of the painting wanting to ascend to the sky above. But they still feel stuck, confused and sluggish until (with my or the paintings promptings), they add paper below and descend to the feet, the roots and the fertile earth below. Some times they discover buried bones and bodies, some times buried treasure, some times subterranean landscapes, seascapes and lost civilizations.

But whatever painters discover below, and how ever they embellish the solid feet of creatures, or the plentiful roots, painters always feel and look more alive, vital, and connected to their Source of life, to their bodies and to their new inspirations. They feel more grounded after including the earth below. 

These paintings are very real, they possess a soul, they possess vital alchemical energy. They are mirrors of our body mind and spirit. So it makes sense that altering the mirror will alter the painter… Quantum Physics 101. The Beauty is that you do not need to plan or understand anything for the magic to work. Just pretend that you believe. This basic Truth is known by the Shaman within each of us. Come Paint From the Source and discover for your self.
